Dane County Friends of Ferals strongly supports humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) as a method to control outdoor cat populations. TNR is 100% effective at preventing additional kittens from being born and it therefore stops the population growth.
One Saturday every month DCFoF works with Madison College to do low cost spay and neuter surgeries for cats that live outside. Veterinarians, veterinary technicians, students, and other volunteers donate their time to help keep costs low. We are able to spay or neuter approximately 50-60 cats each month. The cats do not need to live in Dane County to participate. Because we only do this one Saturday every month, we usually book up at least a month in advance if not more. If you are caring for cats that live outside and are interested in getting them scheduled for one of our Spay Days, please email our TNR Coordinator. The suggested donation per cat is $25.
Spay Neuter at our Shelter
Currently, we are full through the end of June for this service. We are not taking new appointments at this time.
The cost is slightly higher than our monthly spay days, but our waiting list is shorter. If you’re interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please email our Lead CVT. We are also available to offer microchips if desired, for an additional donation of $25. Microchipping is only available at our shelter and not at the monthly Spay Days.
Are you using our Public Spay Neuter service at our Shelter and hoping to pay online? You can do so here. You do not need a PayPal account to use this button. The minimum donation per cat is $50. You are welcome to donate more than this. Each dollar you donate goes to furthering our mission and work.
