--Take Greenway Cross until you come to a T in the road (Syene Road)
--Right on Syene Road
--Left on Post Road
--You will come to a fairly sharp curve in the road, at the curve there is a parking lot and a series of buildings with tall garage doors. Look for the StorageUSA sign.
Drive to the far end of the parking lot. The shelter is the last building on the left.

Parking:

Volunteers should park in the stalls ACROSS from the shelter. We cannot park in the assigned stalls of our condo neighbors.

Our new shelter is complete with 1,200 square feet featuring separate spaces for healthy and sick cats with a separate air ventilation systems. The healthy feral cats will enjoy a free-range room. Our shelter would still be a dream if it wasn't for the extreme generosity of Karen Walsh and Jim Berbee who have donated more than $62,000. They named the shelter "Sly’s Place" after their beloved cat Sylvester.

Thanks in part to generous donors like you we own our first cat shelter! The Dane County Friends of Ferals annual meeting and new shelter open house was held on July 20. We opened our doors to the public for the first time and had an amazing turnout.

Thank you to the following generous donors who have already pledged their support!

  • Elena Sherman pledged $2,500 for the exam room
  • Dr. Karen Bryant pledged $1,500 for the sick room

Shelter Layout:
-The intake room is where the cats are held to make sure they are healthy.
-The exam room is where Dr. Bryant vaccinates the cats. We are hoping to get our own equipment to do routine lab work and an x-ray machine so we won't have to spend thousands of dollars at emergency clinics like we do now.
-The sick room is where cats go to get better.
-The well room where the cats run, play, walk the cat walks and watch the birds outside at the feeders.
-The central services room with our brand new washer and dryer, double laundry tub and shelving for towels.
-The surgery suite is available to spay and neuter our cats so we won't have to wait for our monthly spay days. This means our cats will be adopted even faster!
-The storage closet is where we keep our needed supplies.
