Rainy is a special kitty that has not had an easy road. She doesn't seek attention and seems a little grumpy. Ever know someone who was never happy unless they were complaining? That might describe Rainy. Rainy's attitude toward the people and cats around her seems to be mere tolerance. In foster, we have learned that she is playful, but can't always keep up with younger, faster kitties. She is confused and maybe a little bit depressed by all the changes in her life. One last change - to her forever home - is all she needs.

Rainy arrived at Friends of Ferals grossly obese, teeth so decayed they were falling out of her gums and a back so matted that she had to be shaved (and she's not even a long-haired kitty!). She's had surgery to remove most of her teeth and her back was shaved to relieve her of the incessant pulling and pinching those mats no doubt caused. She is losing weight and learning what it's like to be a "normal" kitty.

Below are some of Rainy's "before" pictures and they aren't even pictures from when she FIRST arrived. But they are pictures of her after losing about a pound and with her back hair growing back in. Stay tuned to follow her progress.

Adopting a Feral/Outdoor Cat:  If you are interested in a barn mouser, feral or semi-feral outdoor cat, please email feraladoptions@daneferals.org or call (608) 467-4067 #1.  Our feral adoption page has adoption info and a feral adoption contract that you can download (Word or PDF).

Our adoption fee includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations appropriate for the cat’s age, treatment for worms (if needed) and testing for Feline Leukemia.  Those cats 6 months of age and older are also tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

Can't adopt today? Consider fostering! All you need is time to spend with your foster cat and the desire to make a difference in the life of a needy kitty. Please contact our Foster Coordinator at: charismajilin@yahoo.com to find out how you can be a foster parent for a cat in need of love and attention.
