Twelve years ago I saw a sign in a store window “Home wanted for a kitten. Cute & cuddly.” Sassy Kat came home with me that very night. He was very contented to be an “only cat” until our neighbors brought their kitten over to play with him. Sassy Kat spent the next week wandering around the house meowing & looking for his new friend. We knew that he needed a companion so we adopted a beautiful white long haired kitten about his age. Sassy Kat and Aspen bonded immediately and were great buddies for four years until we lost Aspen suddenly to saddleblock thrombrosis. Once again Sassy Kat was lonely so a few weeks later we adopted Black Diamond. They bonded quickly and were together for almost eight years before coming to DCFoF.
Sassy Kat is very social. He doesn’t know what a stranger is and seems to love everyone. Sassy Kat loves to sit on your lap and to be held over your shoulder like a baby. He loves to be petted and groomed and will roll over on his back to get a tummy tickle. Although he has slowed down a bit with his age, Sassy Kat will still run thru the house and up and down the steps. He has always loved to play in boxes, paper bags and luggage. He has never been aggressive with his companion cats and would even walk away and let a kitten take over his food dish.
Sassy Kat will rub against your legs and purr very loudly. He has learned to “say please” (sit up and beg as a dog would do) for his bedtime treats. Sassy Kat & Black Diamond were reluctantly surrendered when their people could no longer care for them.
