Our mission is to establish a no-kill standard and to promote the value

Results of the June 8 Spayathon

Twenty eight cats were spayed or neutered along with getting their rabies and distemper vaccinations at our spayathon on June 8, 2008. Special thanks to
Dr. Bob Klosterman and the Middleton Veterinary Hospital for allowing
us to use his clinic for the spayathon.

We would also like to recognize and thank the following businesses
for providing food for the volunteers:
  • Culver’s Restaurant - 2906 Parmenter St., Middleton
  • Scott’s Pastry Shoppe – 6637 University Ave., Middleton
We encourage supporters of Dane County Friends of Ferals to show their appreciation by patronizing these establishments.

One foster parent and spayathon volunteer bicycled to the
event towing two of her charges in a burley. Now that is dedication!

Cat Spotlight: Simon

A nice family was concerned when the stray cat they had been feeding hadn’t come around for awhile. They wondered if something had happened to her and thought there may be kittens somewhere. Sure enough, three kittens came out of hiding in the garage, including our Simon. He was brought to DCFoF with his sisters in April.

Simon is in excellent health and is very playful. He loves his sisters and is first to greet his foster mom when she comes home. He likes to look out the window and dribble a tennis ball around the house like a mini soccer ball. Simon doesn’t like to be held but loves attention, just on his own terms.

Simon will do best in a home with a young cat or kitten…maybe even his sisters. He has been introduced to many people, houses and dogs.

Please contact Simon's foster mom, Caitlin, at cctearney@wisc.edu if you are interested in adopting this loving boy.

Looking to adopt your new best friend? Search the cats and kittens in our program.

Visit our cats at our weekly adoption fairs.

Or contact the cat's foster parent directly to set up a time to meet.

We are desperately seeking new foster homes for kitten season. An unspayed cat can give birth up to 18 kittens each year and there is an influx in the spring. These kittens need to be placed into foster care until they are old enough to be adopted. All you need is one room to separate your foster cats from your own cats, time to spend with your foster cats and the desire to make a difference. Please contact our foster care coordinator if you can help.
